Suggestions

I need a couple suggestions from my readers! I am looking for a way to make a little extra money while I am back in school for the fall semester. My school work is very demanding so I won't have a ton of free time. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am currently thinking about setting up a shop on etsy.com and selling some of the jewelry and other items I make. My only problem is, I don't know if it is worth it. Has anyone sold stuff on Etsy before? Is it hard to get people to start noticing your items? I feel like this might be my best option but i don't want to spend money buying materials and then not be able to sell anything. So, any suggestions or tips from Etsy users is greatly appreciated!!!

If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to comment!

Thanks,
Steph

  1. Hey there, found you on Blog Frog. I started an Etsy account. Soon after I became pregnant and pre-occupied. But for the few months I was into it, I found it very time consuming. Its a really great idea, but if you don't have a lot of time which it sounds like you are pretty busy, then it may not be the best choice for you. It requires a lot of time editing photos, taking photos, writing descriptions etc. Then if someone purchases your product, you have to handle shipping and packing etc. If you want your stuff to get noticed you have to add new stuff all the time. That's my two bits anyways. Go ahead and get an account, name your store and that way you have it when you are inspired to create. Never know!

  2. My daughter has a job taking care of children at a local church Sat nights and Sunday mornings during worship services. These are hours she normally wouldn't be studying annyway so it doesn't interfere with school. Check out your church!

  3. Hi There- found you on "The Lady Network" on BlogFrog. I recently graduated college and while in college, I babysat for a local family- I also started my own Tupperware business- it proved to be very successful (and I am now a manager). :) Check it out: www.twolivia.com
